Our First iPad donation

We have begun our initial e drive pickups and we are happy to report that we have received our first iPad donation.  In addition to this iPad donation we have also received numerous cell phone, smartphone, and tablet donations.

iPad donations will go directly to the libraries in Africa.  The rest of the electronics will be resold or recycled responsibly.  We remove all data from the phone(s) and tablets if you have not done so, but it is always best to delete any personal information before you give your phone or tablet.  We resell most electronics if possible to pay for our operations in New York City, Chicago and Miami.  This allows us to continue creating more libraries in Africa and North America.

Our goal is to bring 100 iPads to Africa by 2015.  So we are no 1% of the way there.

If you are a school or business and would like to start and e drive it is super easy and can raise money for your school and help build libraries in Africa.

Donate your tablet and smart phone

HTC, Apple, Samsung, and all of the consumer electronics companies are continuously pumping out new devices.  Cell phone companies are enticing consumers to upgrade the phones and sign new 2 year contracts.

Often times what ends of happening is our old devices sit in our drawers gathering dust.  Companies now offer a buy back program where they will buy your working unbroken device.  If your device has a cracked screen or it won’t power on you may have trouble selling them.  Books4Cause is hoping that you will consider us to donate smart phones, tablets, e-readers, mp3 players, cameras, laptops and more.

We will take your unused devices and turn them into libraries in Africa.  We are hoping that this will help us grow and to maintain our company for generations to come.  We hope to develop tablet programs in Africa helping to bridge the electronic divide.  We are also working on a local program in America bringing technology training to the inner cities.

How your old smart phones can save a life

Each book that we send to Africa holds the power to change lives.  To this date Books4Cause has affected the lives of over 100,000 people.  In Africa alone we have changed the lives of 60 thousand children.

In order to fund this initiative of sending books overseas we sell a portion of the books that are given to us.  We don’t get government grants, or receive any cash donations.  We are able to do this by selling some of the books that have value on the American markets.

Besides donating books, you may also donate your smart phone to help us fund our programming.  We also take donations of e-readers, tablets, laptops, mp3 players, cameras, and more.

Don’t throw out your unused smart phones, tablets, e-readers, mp3 players, cameras, or laptops
