- 250 or more books
- Packed in small, sturdy boxes
- Boxes fully packed, closed, and taped shut
- All boxes placed at ground level before pickup
- Within our 15-mile service area
Use boxes no larger than approximately 1.5 cubic feet — the size of a standard small moving box. Please do not use oversized boxes, plastic tubs, or loose bags.
Before pickup: All books must be packed in small, sturdy boxes that are completely filled, securely closed, and taped shut. Every box must be placed at ground level before the driver arrives.
What we accept
All books in good condition, CDs, DVDs, vinyl records, comics, video games, and other collectibles.
Fewer than 250 books?
Drop off up to 10 boxes at our Avondale or Uptown bookstores. Larger loads can be brought to our Lincolnwood warehouse without an appointment — please call (800) 570-3698 when you arrive.

When you donate books to Books4Cause, you help stock our free bookstores in Avondale and Uptown, support schools and community programs, and help establish libraries in Africa.
