3415 Madison St., Skokie, 60076 (MAP) – There is a vestibule in the front entrance of the building. It is open 24/7 and you may leave books in here. This is NOT a free bookstore. Our free bookstore is located in Avondale see below. If you have more than 10 boxes please call ahead and drop off M-F 9am-4pm.
Avondale Free Book Store:
2931 N. Milwaukee Ave., 60618 (MAP) – This is our free bookstore. It is open every day Monday-Friday 12pm-5pm Saturday/Sunday 10am-5pm. We have a 10 box donation limit here.

If for some reason you are unable to box up or move books, we have a trusted individual, Sholom, who can assist with small moves, putting together furniture, packing boxes, and moving for a fee. You can reach Sholom at 917-570-6848 for more information about his services and fees.

All K-12 books in very good condition are sent to the African Library Project or distributed to children in Chicago.
College-level books are either given to the ALP or resold, depending on the needs of universities in Africa.
The rest of the books are either sold, given away, or recycled.
Sold books pay for operations and shipping expenses to Africa.
