Mission:

As part of the HSRI Good books for Africa Project the mission of this project is to help provide educational opportunities to children living in rural villages in Africa.

The Nuts and Bolts:

The African Library project provides anyone with the opportunity to make a library in Africa.  One must collect 1000 books and raise $500 for the shipping.  We collect books and sell a portion of the books we receive to raise the money for the shipping.  ALP has strict guidelines on the books they receive. We sort out all of the books into different reading levels making sure that all of the books we send will be used.  ALP works with organizations on the ground in Africa maximizing the positive impact.  All villages are screened to make sure they have the proper infrastructure and personnel to make the library a success.
