Donate your books for a cause

Books4Cause runs book drives and book donation campaigns which help fund and support various initiatives locally, nationally, and around the world. Since we began arranging book donation drives in early 2006, we have raised thousands of dollars for our non-profit partners and salvaged tens of thousands of books that were headed for landfills. We are expanding our focus to support additional causes and continue to help those in need.

We reprocess donated books in several ways. Books with resale value are sold in online marketplaces. For every book we sell we send three books to Africa. We also run individualized book drives to support additional local organizations and student groups.

Most of our donated books are sent to Africa with the assistance of our non-profit partner Human Service Resources, Inc (HSRI). HSRI runs the Good Books for Africa program distributing books to children in classrooms and libraries in Ghana and elsewhere in Africa. To date, HSRI has sent more than 300,000 books to Africa. Books that are not fit to be reprocessed are pulped and recycled.

    The book donation process.

    Thank you so much for considering Books4cause to donate your books. We try to make the donation process as organized and easy as possible. We will pick up your books in your home or office at your convenience. After your books have been picked up they will come to our warehouse where they will be sorted into different stations. The books that will be going to Africa are put in boxes and placed on pallets to await shipment. When we have a container's worth of books, they will be shipped off to Ghana and moved to another warehouse where they will be distributed to various schools, libraries, and universities.

    Books4Cause Partners and Donations

    Our partners are our heart and soul. They are our identity. Their success is our success. Their goals are our goals. Especially in today's economy, monetary donations are in decline. Organizations solely relying on the kindness of others are struggling. Our goal is to raise money and awareness for our partners; we accomplish this through book drives on college campuses. These book drives allow us to raise money to fund local and global social initiatives as well as send books to foreign areas. Every book that is sold pays for a book to be sent overseas. Additionally a set percentage of every sale goes to help these wonderful organizations achieve their goals. Every book that is donated helps out educationally and financially.
